Iceland is home to puffins. Puffins are only found in the northern hemisphere, and they stick to the same habitats. In May, they swim up to the cliffs where they were born to make their nests and lay their eggs. They wait for their mate in front of a burrow - puffins mate for life. Sometimes the female is late, so other females will try to encroach. The "wife" will chase the other females away. They greet each other with a clicking of their beaks. In May, the air is filled with this sound.
